When the radiator fan switch is faulty, the worst thing it can do is cause the engine to overheat when the car is slow moving or in a standstill. Before testing the radiator fan thermo switch, test the radiator fan motor first by connecting 12V or battery power to its connection.

The 90-ON radiator fan thermo switch forms a circuit when temperature of the coolant reaches 190-198°F (88°C - 92°C). It switches off when the temperature drops 5-14°F (3°C - 8°C) lower than the temperature required to form a circuit.

This 93-ON radiator fan thermo switch forms a circuit when temperature of the coolant reaches 196-203°F (91°C - 95°C). It switches off when the temperature drops 5-14°F (3°C - 8°C) lower than the temperature required to form a circuit.
